The State Mining Authority summarized the effects of district mining offices' actions of fighting illegal exploitation in the first half of the year. During this period, the directors of district mining offices imposed 34 penal fees for 13 262 135 PLN.

Honours for brave mine rescuers
Management Board of the Wacław Cybulski Safe Mining Foundation, in cooperation with the President of the State Mining Authority awarded honorary diplomas "Brave Coalminer” to six mining rescuers who took part in rescue operations following a cave-in on May 14-15, 2024 at the "Mysłowice-Wesoła" coal mine and July 11-13, 2024 at the "Ruch Rydułtowy ROW" coal mine.
Exams have returned to mining offices
On July 6, 2024, the regulation on qualifications in the field of mining and mine rescue was entered into force. It restores the possibility of conducting examinations in mining offices, which will enable the recruitment of qualified staff to work in the mining industry.
Changes in the organisational structure of the State Mining Authority
Since July 1, 2024, the State Mining Authority has had a new statute. The order was signed by the Minister of Industry, Marzena Czarnecka. It repealed the document the Minister of State Assets issued on October 7, 2022. With the entry into force of the new statute, the organisational structure of the institution changed.
