There are over 2,200 self-propelled underground machines in KGHM mines. Limited visibility of the space around the machine from the operator's cabin often creates a risk of collision with a miner or another machine. One way to increase safety when operating self-propelled machi-nes in mines is to use collision avoidance systems (CAS). However, not all methods of solving this problem known from the surface work in underground conditions. The article presents a new "SYBET-Proxima type anti-collision operator support system" dedicated primarily to co-pper ore mines. Attention was paid to how to install the radio module of this system (opera-ting in the ISM 868 MHz band) and the monitor in the operator's cabin.

The pre-exploitation degasification of coal seams through the wells G-1 and G3K executed in 2018 and 2019 in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin confirmed technical feasibility of the degasification using wells drilled from surface. In connection with the new requirements of the European Parliament and Council regulation regarding reduction of methane emissions in the energy sector, as well as changes in regulations with respect to fees for exceeding emissions, which will now be allocated into investments for developing technologies of methane emission reduction, and considering that possibility of coalbed methane extraction in Poland has been estimated at 1.0-1.5 billion m3/year, these are undoubtedly arguments confirming that coal seam degassing technology should be further developed in Poland.
