25th World Mining Congress
20 June 2018Tuesday, 19th June marked the first day of the 25th World Mining Congress — one of the biggest events organized for the mining industry. This year’s Congress takes place in Astana, Kazakhstan and will end on 22nd June.
During the Congress the President of the State Mining Authority Mr Adam Mirek will give a presentation on the topic of “Minimizing hazards caused by high energy tremors with the use of geophysical observations and apply of appropriate rock burst prevention to increase safety in underground coal mines”.
The idea of the World Mining Congress was popularized by a Polish scientist and mining engineer Bolesław Krupiński, PhD. The first World Mining Congress was organized in Warsaw in 1958.
