34th meeting of the ATEX AdCo group
8 March 2023On Tuesday, 7 March, the 34th meeting of the ATEX AdCo group, a European working group for administrative cooperation in the area of Directive 2014/34/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, was held in the form of a teleconference.
The meeting was led by the deputy director of the State Mining Authority’s Department of Energy and Mechanics, who serves as chairman of the ATEX AdCo group. The proceedings were participated in by the representatives of market supervision authorities of individual Member States of the European Union and representatives of: the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission (DG EMPL), the CEN/TC 305 Technical Committee on Potentially Explosive Atmospheres — Explosion Prevention and Protection, the European Coordination Group of Notified Bodies (ExNBG) for the ATEX Directive (2014/34/EU), as well as invited experts in the area covered by the group’s operations.
Moreover, on the part of the Department of Energy and Mechanics of the State Mining Authority, employees of the Product Control Team were also present at the meeting, who discussed selected issues from the current activities in the area of market supervision of products covered by the ATEX Directive used in the Polish mining industry and touched upon topics related to the method of carrying out repairs, overhauls and modernisation of products already used.
