AdCo ATEX group meeting
28 November 2022The 33rd meeting of the ATEX AdCo group - the European working group for administrative cooperation in the area of Directive 2014/34/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres - was held in Brussels on 22-23 November.
The meeting was chaired by Roman Sąsiadek, deputy director of the Higher Mining Authority's Department of Energomechanics, in his capacity as chairman of the ATEX AdCo group. The meeting was attended by representatives of the market surveillance authorities of the individual European Community countries, representatives of the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission (DG EMPL), a representative of the CEN/TC 305 Technical Committee on Potentially Explosive Atmospheres - Explosion Prevention and Protection, a representative of the European Coordination Group of Notified Bodies (ExNBG) for the ATEX Directive (2014/34/EU), and invited experts in the area covered by the group. In addition, on the part of the Department of Energomechanics of the State Mining Authority, employees of the Product Control Team were present, who presented selected issues from current activities in the area of market supervision of products covered by the ATEX Directive used in the Polish mining industry.
Active participation in the ATEX AdCo group enables all participants to develop a unified approach to issues concerning market surveillance, production and use in the area relating to equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
