Advisory Committee - the Senior Council

As of March 8, 2024, the President of the State Mining Authority signed a disposition on the appointment of the Advisory Committee - the Senior Council. The Council is an advisory and guidance body.

Its members are:

·         the President of the State Mining Authority;

·         the Vice-Presidents of the State Mining Authority;

·         any former Presidents or Vice-Presidents of the State Mining Authority, appointed, at their consent, by the President of the State Mining Authority;

·         the Secretary of the Council.

The Chairman of the Council will be selected from among its members. This function cannot be held by a representative of the current management of the State Mining Authority.

According to the disposition, the Council will be in charge of preparing general recommendations in the area of mining for the President of the State Mining Authority, including in particular:

• the general competencies of mining supervision authorities;
• strategic directions for the development of mining;
• legislative initiatives in mining;
• improvement of occupational health and safety in mining and common safety in connection with mining operations;
• recognition and prevention of threats in mining plants;
• implementation of technical progress in mining;
• general directions for action or analyses in mining;
• rational management of mineral deposits;
• reduction of risks and nuisance from mining for people and the environment;
• professional training and ongoing vocational education.

Any persons invited by the President of the State Mining Authority or the Chairman of the Council will be allowed to attend its sessions.
