New supervision authority over SMA’s President
26 February 2007On 24 February 2007 an act amending the Geological and Mining Law came into force. In accordance with that act the President of the State Mining Authority is supervised by the minister competent for environment. Furthermore, since 24.02.2007 the Minister of Environment has been responsible for:
- putting forward the motion to appoint the President of the State Mining Authority,
- appointing and dismissing the Vice Presidents of the State Mining Authority (upon the motion of the SMA’s President),
- approving SMA’s statute,
- issuing orders concerning: establishment and closing down of district and specialised mining authorities; mining plants operation plans; natural hazards in mining plants.
