President of the State Mining Authority decorated at the International Mining Forum 2019

On 11 April 2019, the International Mining Forum 2019 conference started at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. During the inauguration ceremony, President of the State Mining Authority Adam Mirek, Phd, Eng was awarded the "Meritorious service for Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A." badge by the Management Board of JSW S.A. in recognition of his merits for very good cooperation with JSW S.A. and his special involvement in the rescue operation in the "Zofiówka" Movement.

Thanking for the award, the President of the State Mining Authority stressed that the mission of the mining supervisory authorities is understood, among other things, as assistance for and cooperation with mining companies in various difficult situations, and not only as control and imposing sanctions on entrepreneurs. Such an approach allows both sides to fulfil their joint responsibility to ensure mining safety.

The International Mining Forum conference was established in 2004 on the initiative of the Polish Academy of Science and AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow.
