Study visit to Puschwitz
11 October 2019On 9 and 10 October 2019, as part of the Interreg MineLife Programme - "A Life with Mining", a study visit was organised to the Industrial Waste Storage Facility in Puschwitz (Germany). Representatives of the State Mining Authority in Katowice, Saxon Mining Office in Freiberg, District Mining Authority in Wroclaw, Marshal's Office in Wroclaw, the scientific communities (Wroclaw University of Technology, University of Silesia) and entrepreneurs attended a lecture delivered by an entrepreneur from PD Refractories. It addressed the business profile of the enterprise - with particular emphasis on landfill and the legal basis for waste management in Germany.
Afterwards, the attendees visited the Waste Disposal Site (Puschwitzer Feld) created in the excavation of an open-cast clay mine, conducted in accordance with the DK III [Category III] standard.
