Success of Polish mine rescue teams in international competition

The 6^th International Mine Rescue Competition was held July 14–17, 2008 in Reno, Nevada, USA. The Southern Coal Company’s team the Black Gold took the second position and the White Eagles from Polish Copper Company (KGHM) were the third team. The first-place team was Australia. Teams participating in the international contest were also based in Canada, India, Mexico, Peru, Ukraine and USA.

The final scores were comprised of results in field competition, an apparatus benchman contest, a multi-gas instrument benchman contest and a first aid contest.
