The number of district mining offices was reduced

Pursuant to the regulation of the Minister of State Assets of 1 March 2022 on the determination of names, registered offices and effective areas of district mining offices and the liquidation of the District Mining Office in Gliwice, the District Mining Office in Gliwice was closed as of 5 June 2022. 

The District Mining Office in Katowice and the District Mining Office in Rybnik took over its responsibilities. Furthermore, the effective performance limits for three district mining offices: in Katowice, Rybnik and Kraków, were also established. These organizational changes were initiated due to the observed decrease in the number of mining facilities and restrictions to their mining activities, particularly with respect to Upper Silesian hard coal mines.
