Visit of Presidents of mining authorities from Czech Republic and Germany (Brandenburg and Saxony)
27 May 2009On 25 and 26 May 2009 Presidents of mining authorities from Czech Republic - Ivo Pěgřímek and German federal states of Brandenburg – Klaus Freytag and Saxony - Reinhard Schmidt with delegations, invited by the President of the State Mining Authority Piotr Litwa, paid a visit to Poland.
On the first day of the visit the guests participated in a working meeting on issues regarding copper ore mining in Poland. The workshop was held in the District Mining Office in Wrocław and was opened by SMA’s President Piotr Litwa. The guests got acquainted with tasks of DMO in Wrocław related to supervision over copper ore mining in mines owned by KGHM, mining activity in KGHM as well as organization and tasks of the Emergency Mine-Smelter Rescue Services Unit of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. The meeting ended with a discussion.
On the second day the delegations paid a visit to the "Polkowice-Sieroszowice" mine. They were made familiar among others to the mining conditions and natural and technical hazards in the plant.
The visit was organized in relation to the stipulations of declaration on cooperation signed on 10 September 2008 by of mining authorities from Czech Republic, Germany (Brandenburg and Saxony) and Republic of Poland.
