Visit of Ukrainian delegation

On 30 November and 1 December in the State Mining Authority took place a Polish-Ukrainian seminar on safety issues in hard coal mining. The participants of the seminar were delegates from the Ukrainian State Committee on Industrial Security, Occupational Safety and Mining Supervision under the leadership of Vice President of the Committee, Mr Oleg Rumezhak, from the Ministry of Coal Industry as well as the representatives of the State Mining Authority. The seminar was opened by the President of the State Mining Authority, Mr Piotr Litwa. The SMA’s Vice President Mirosław Koziura chaired the meeting’s first day, and the SMA’s Vice President Mr Wojciech Magiera chaired the meeting’s second day.
The seminar has been organized within the framework of the EU Project “Coal Sector Policy Support Programme in Ukraine".
The SMA’s representatives delivered lectures on the methods of accidents and injury prevention, recording and investigation incidents in the Polish coalmining sector, qualifications of miners and application of explosive materials under methane- and outburst hazards.
The Ukrainian delegations stays in Poland till 6 December 2009.
